A mouse,
Good morning, quiet house.
A bark,
A cry,
I’m up with a sigh.
A toddler,
A dog,
My mind in a fog.
The coffee,
The bacon,
At last I’m awakened.
The dishes,
The laundry,
Present quite a quandary.
The cobwebs,
The dust,
To clean is a must.
The phone,
The doorbell,
Another hard sell.
The market,
The bank,
An empty gas tank.
A park,
A playdate,
Now lunch will be late.
A slide,
A swing,
One banged up knee.
A sandwich,
A cheese wheel,
We’ll call it a meal.
A story,
A nap,
Two hours on my lap.
The princess,
The dolls,
Let’s take out them all.
A hug,
A kiss,
Daddy’s home, he was missed!
A salad,
A dessert,
If we eat our veggies first.
A bath,
A ducky,
I’ll stay dry if I’m lucky.
A prayer,
A lullaby,
We await a cry.
The pillow,
The bed,
Goodnight, sleepy head.
