In a bookstore or nook
Since time was but awhile
My bookstore said to file
A paper to ease debt
An act of deep regret
Oh, why did it leave me
Out of the reading tree
So unfair I cannot
Stay for days cold or hot
Or scan for author’s name
It isn’t just the same
For now I shop on line
Takes a minute of time
I look at pages few
Downloaded for a view
Then look at several more
And click on three or four
Two I move to wish list
One deleted, no gist
No clerk to ask what is
Not suggest her or his
No live interaction
No smiling faces on
Just mouse clicks on the right
For anything in sight
A password all that’s key
The account seen is me
One more click and I’m in
My purchase does begin
A credit card clears way
A simper way to pay
My books arrive by mail
