Oh, what time is it? It’s still dark out. That’s right I start a new job today. Better get up and going.
Dressed and down the hall, heading for the kitchen, I need some juice to get going today.
Taking a can from freezer, I haven’t had devotions for awhile. Think I better have one. Oops, it’s later than I thought, I don’t have time. I know, I’ll do both at the same time.
Opens Bible and drops it on the counter.
Let’s see the directions on the label. Hmmm, "made from concentrate."
“…God created man in His image, in the image of God created He him....”(1) I knew that, so…I’ll open somewhere else to get started.
1. Open can
Duh
“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”(2) Okay, okay. So let’s move on…flips the pages to a new passage.
2. Empty can into container
“Abide in Me, and I in you...”(3) That’s pretty self evident. What’s the next step here…
3. Add three cans of water
One…two…three…
“…whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again but whosoever drinks of the water that I give him shall never thirst...”(4) Hey, isn’t that cool. I’m getting something to drink and this scripture seems almost to talk to me. But I need to get this juice made or I won’t have time even to drink it.
Turns to another passage in the Bible.
4. Mix well
Grabs spoon, gives a few quick stirs.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God…rightly dividing the Word of truth.”(5) I wish I had time…flips a few pages…
5. Makes one quart
“…thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”(6)
This better be good. As he starts pouring juice into glass, a large, undissolved chuck falls out, splashing sticky fluid on the counter.
Well, this is a real mess. It'll have to wait, I’ll get to it when I have time. I need to get working. Priorities, you know.
Right, “Made from concentrate”. Some concentration this has been.
