“That was a great game, I can’t believe that you whupped me again. What time is it?” Jay inquired.
“About 11:30 are you ready for lunch or should we bundle up and go make snow angels?”
“I feel a bit of a cold coming on, so no snow angels for me today.”
“Ok so, let’s have alphabet soup and go for game four. Maybe I can win one if my tank is full.”
“Have you ever found every letter of the alphabet in this soup?”
“No, I don’t think they make Queue and Zee.”
The clang of the pan hitting the floor woke Zed up and he started in with the barking.
“Oh, no, I hope we have more soup, oh well, at least Zed is going to have a treat today, lucky dog.”
Jay looked at Kay and their eyes lit up. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
“Zed, no, not now, you can help us clean it up when we have found all our letters. John, please call the dog, we need a few more minutes out here.”
Not happy to be startled out of his nap, John obliged “Hey old guy, you can help clean up this mess later, let’s give them their fun.”
“I wonder how many words we can make with all these Eees? Bee, Cee, Tee. where is a Gee, Oh, there, how about a Vee?”
“Dee, de de de dee, dee de de de dee, I don’t see any effs, Zed, get back and stop licking your chops.”
“Wooo Whooo! I’ve been waiting a long time to lay this word on you.” Kay was jumping up and down, “AITCH! I don’t remember what I was reading, but they were talking about cockney English and how the people were dropping their “aitches,” you know like ‘arry for Harry. I love it. I know it’s not a great Scrabble word, worth only ten points, but it us such a cool word.”
Jay tried it out, but it stuck on his tongue. “I think you have to see it in context to be able to pronounce, once you do, it makes sense.”
“Just say “H” and forget about how it’s spelled.”
“Have you checked out that Chicktionary game I told you about?”
“Oh yeah, I have been forgetting to thank you for adding one more time sink to my internet repertoire. You were right. It is a blast. I have to turn the sound down, though, because all the clucking makes Zed start in on the barking, it took me a couple of games to figure out what his problem was.”
“Look here’s el, em and en, all lumped together, just like the song. Did you know that the tune to the ABC song is the same as Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star?”
“Yep, oh, just found the pee, potty break, cocoa in and cocoa out, hold on for a minute, and keep Zed away.”
John had gone back to his nap, so Zed had slunk toward the kitchen, to keep him occupied Jay pulled his ears and scratched his belly.
“Ar! Matey,” Jay covering one eye with his hand, “let’s play a game sometime where we only use pirate words.”
“Ay, that could be fun but we may have to wait for another snow day, it could take awhile to come up with enough words.”
“Then the eyes have it, you’re on. What is your favorite Scrabble word?”
“Ex, I like ex because there are so many ways to add to it. But my favorite tile is ess, because adding it to existing words is a great way to rack up points.”
“Do you think they will ever add Dubyah to the official dictionary?”
“I wouldn’t be surprised.”
“So for the letter Y, which version do you like to use, why or wye?”
“Definitely why, it’s worth more points. I think we have found all but eff, queue and zed maybe you are right. Ok, boy, you’ve been so good, now it’s your turn.”
“I have never had so much fun making a mess, we should have kept score. I wonder how many points we accumulated.”
“Ok, who goes first this time?”

Very creative!
This line had me in stitches:
“Yep, oh, just found the pee, potty break, cocoa in and cocoa out, hold on for a minute, and keep Zed away.”
The punctuation errors were a bit distracting, but it's easy enough to learn. Do you have a challenge buddy?
I really enjoyed this. Fun fun fun!
Red ink: Although you carefully separated your dialogue, I still had some difficulty keeping score on who was speaking, since there was a good deal of back and forth between times that a name was attached. I never did completely conclude who was ahead in the Scrabble match before lunch.
I became a little confused with the dialogue in the second half, but managed to work it out with a second read. Well done. This was very unusual.
Quite a few missing commas, so it didn't flow quite as well as it could have, but I really enjoyed the pacing and jolliness in this cute story.
