My body settles and my body roams.
They span the ages from infant to aged,
They’re unemployed and fully waged.
Some live in luxury, some have no shoes,
Some sing opera while others play the blues.
Some smoke cigarettes or even some weed,
Some have plenty, many are in need.
Black, yellow, white and shades of brown,
They live on mountains and on streets downtown.
Some sport colorful tattoos or pierced body parts.
Underneath all the glamour, I am found in their hearts.
Some are quite rotund, others skinny as a rail,
Some are politicians, others reside in jail.
They worship with dancing or sit perfectly still.
Most important of all, they’re seeking my will.
Full immersion for some or a sprinkling on the head;
Their ways may differ, but by my Spirit they are led.
From African deserts to Australia’s far shores,
Some sleep in castles, some on dirt floors.
Some sit in wheelchairs or walk with a cane,
Many travel by foot or fly on a plane.
Some abound with joy, some are deeply depressed,
Some glow with My Spirit and know they are blessed.
Some are happily married, some divorced and torn.
Others wait for children they pray will be born.
Some are quite selfish, others give ‘til it hurts,
Some grow steadily, some in amazing spurts.
Many live to serve and offer loving grace,
Many can see Jesus in each hurting face.
They all are sinners, yet are forgiven and set free,
By the life my son Jesus gave sacrificially.
My prayer for them is to become as one;
Each uniquely created, yet One in the Son.
