I have had angry moments that didn’t do anyone any good. Those are the times that I know that anger and I don’t partner well. I have to begin to find a way to dissolve the partnership that is trying to form. I make decisions as to what I want to disturb me and how I want to feel and anger is not on the list. Being angry is a form of control and I don’t like being controlled, especially not by this kind of emotion.
If I can make something positive out of being angry that is what I set in to do. Changing something that can be so bad into something that can be useful is a triumph for me. I have seen people so angry that they really get stupid and stupid is not a thing I want to be seen on me. Some people are proud of the fact that they are angry and don’t care who sees them misbehave or where they are seen.
Sometimes being angry can change a bad situation into good. Being angry about crime can cause you to do something effective to help stop it. Being angry about child abuse can cause you to take a stand to defend children. This kind of anger is acceptable if your response is not out of anger but because of the problem. Sometimes we have to become angry before we are stirred to action.
I don’t want to be an angry person that just blows up at anything and anybody. Self-control says a lot about a person. I only want good thoughts and opinions about me. Besides, most of the time I get angry I have let too much pile up one me and I realize I haven’t had my nerve pill.
