When things don’t go my way.
I know just how to stop them;
Get on my knees and pray.
But somehow I forget that,
And slip into defeat.
I let those bugs come at me
And every time I’m beat.
It often starts out little,
A small care or concern.
I let it churn inside me;
When will I ever learn?
The bugs they come too quickly --
Latch on to my despair.
Before I know what’s happened,
I’m caught in Satan’s snare.
A-ranting and a-raving,
I am a sight to see.
I fear that wicked demons
Have got a hold of me.
The anger bugs are waging
A war I cannot win.
I know the Bible tells me
“In anger, do not sin.”
Dear God, come to my rescue,
Please help me do what’s right.
The anger boils inside me --
Is this to be my plight?
I’m here for you, my daughter,
The work has all been done.
Release your rage and worries,
The battle has been won.
The anger bugs come crawling
When things don’t go my way.
I know just how to stop them;
Get on my knees and pray.
