To my Sweet Grand-daughter, Tinisha
Dear Tinisha:
As you already know
I’ve spent my whole life in a great career
Living the best that I can live
Being a mom
Giving the best that I could give
Now in this part of my life
Being your Grandmother
Is my favorite part of all
It is here where I finally find myself
Standing 10 feet tall
I am as important as your best friend
I have everything under control
I have personality to no end
Some people call us old
I call it
Maturing with purpose
My purpose is you
You make my life alive and so new
I’m always in the background
I am your best cheer leader
Pushing you forward
If at times you don’t hear me
Then I’ll whisper a little louder
Be the best that you can be
Be careful of what you say and do
Just remember
Jesus loves you and I do to
You need to know the do's and don’ts
To make a life worthwhile
Jesus offers all good things
He will walk with you each mile
Please listen to what Granny says
I’ve been around for quite awhile
Learning to face every trial
Praying and singing and reading the Book
I took a look in the back
And we are all winners
Jesus came to save every sinner
Have you heard the saying, “Be true to ones self”?
I am here to tell you this
“If you’ll be true to God, you’ll be true to self
And everyone else”
With God as your guide you can never miss
I am sincerely convinced That God is
He is all that you will ever need
As you walk the road of life
What else can I say to make you see
That Jesus will full-fill all your needs
I became who I am in Christ
The day he totally set me free
When he shed his blood on that old tree
Not only does my soul prosper
But he wants me to be in health
Free from sickness and pain
His death was all our gain
He walked up Calvary Hill and stood the test
So I will put my trust in him and be enriched and blessed
Don’t make yourself invisible
Prosperity is built on serving the Lord
Testify for the Lord
Read his word
His Word is alive just like a seed
It never gets old or never gets tired
And the best news is, it will never return to you void
The Bible comes to life with life
Prosperity is a promise of so many scriptures in his word
A promise God cannot break
He said, “Is he a man that he should lie”?
He answers his children with a yes and amen
On his promises you can always stand!
My sweet baby girl
I have been praying for you for 17 years
I have shed some Godly tears
I can see God at work in your life
All through each day and all through each night
Prayer helps make things work together for good
Especially Godly things we read about in his word
God has pleasure in blessing his children
He likes to watch us play in his big playground
He is our Father,
He will never leave or forsake us, and will always stick around
He is closer than a brother
If you need him, just whisper “Jesus”!
He owns all the cattle on the hill
When we ask of him, He will give
We were created because he was lonely
He loves us more than life
He gave his only Son that we could live
He smiles on us when we do his will
So beautiful little lady, let me sum it all up:
God gave the best that he could give
Jesus died and arose again so that we could live
So Live for Jesus, Live long and prosper
See your children and your children’s children
Expect abundant life
Free from sin and free from strife.

"Prosperity is built on serving the Lord."
"Prosperity is a promise of so many scriptures in his word -
A promise God cannot break."
Soooo, prosperity is receiving from God and then responding to His love! Nice.
I agree with Jan - I think such a love letter to a grandchild might be even more powerful in a prose format...more real, perhaps.
Your granddaughter has a rich legacy!
