Megawatt reflected on how easily he and his fellow Christian crime fighters had been captured. As team leader, he was his own worst critic.
The problem they had faced seemed straightforward enough. A bus full of passengers had fallen into the river. With such a large number of people aboard, calling in the whole team to assist made sense, at the time. As the teen heroes were flying the stranded passengers to safety, however, several of the ‘victims’ had attacked them.
What Megawatt wanted to know was how random bus passengers had the ability to defeat seven powerful heroes. Lion Lord, Allah’s Fist’s leader, answered the electrical hero's unspoken query.
“So easy to capture you, playing on your compassion for your fellow infidels. I know you had a benefactor that gave you your abilities. Our benefactor gave us much more, including mind control over the simple minds of the bus riders. A signal broadcast through their phones gave us control of enough of them. The weapons we had provided did the rest.”
Megawatt sent out a mental blast to the team, asking them to pretend powerlessness until he signaled them. It went against all their beliefs to use falsehoods, but they complied.
Lion Lord continued to gloat over the captured heroes. “And just so you know, the bus was not really in danger. My team controlled its crash through the guardrail. Just another practice of taqiyyah, as prescribed in the Qur’an.”
Megawatt, faking how out of it he was, pretended confusion. “You’re allowed to deceive in your religion? Christians don’t generally do that.”
As he made this statement, he was reminded of Rahab in the Old Testament, how she had deceived to save the spies, and how God’s Word listed her in Jesus' genealogy. That gave Megawatt a small amount of comfort as he stalled for time for his team's strength to return. Though he also knew that Christ had commanded His followers to obey the commandments, he felt no discomfort in deceiving their enemies about his team’s condition.
Lion Lord pushed back against Megawatt’s claim. “You don’t tell falsehoods? So, your families know about your masked exploits? Our families know what we do, since we don’t wear masks, and we keep our activities out in the open.”
“So you don’t keep your "light" under a basket? Good for you,” Megawatt rejoined, as he mentally reviewed his team’s minds to see if they were ready.
Lion Lord seemed confused by the comment.
Megawatt explained, “It’s an expression from the Bible.”
Broadcasting to his team, they all leapt to their feet. “Sorry, but we weren’t as helpless as you thought. Had to trick you until we were ready to take your team on.”
Lion Lord gestured to the four figures behind him, and the battle began.
Diamond and Megawatt double teamed Lion Lord, while Grav-Master took out the bat-like Moonhunter. Wolf was grabbed in one hand by giant Amazing Girl, while Coldfire and Blue Flame worked together to defeat She Snake. That left Ali-gator to battle Mariness. That fight was over in less than a minute.
After the police had removed the Islamic villains, the Light Force bowed their heads to thank God for their victory, as was their custom. After Megawatt said, “Amen,” Amazing Girl asked a question that Lion Lord had prompted during his monologuing. “Megawatt, why don’t we tell our families about what we’re doing?”
Megawatt answered honestly, “I never said you couldn’t let your family know about what you do. I must insist, though, that you keep the rest of our identities secret.”
As he said this, he tried to imagine how his own family would react. The team knew that Mariness' sister knew her secret, but none of them had discussed informing their own families about their double lives. Megawatt decided, privately, to inform his parents about his Christian crime fighting. Megawatt had read about the Islamic practice of taqiyya, and it didn’t sit well with him to essentially be practicing it in his own life. He could see the resolve in several of his teammates' faces to go home and announce their personal truth.
He hoped it wouldn’t cause anyone to leave their crime fighting ministry.

Author's note: Taqiyya is a practice from the Qur’an that allows Muslims to deceive for self-preservation. As Allah’s Fist feels it is their mission to preserve Islam, this is a loose interpretation of that belief.
