He raised me up.
When I lay weak and without hope
He filled my cup.
He took my hand and fled with me
to safer ground.
My wounds were healed, I knew His love
and soon I found
That I could walk with confidence
because of Him.
And though I'll not forget the times
when life was grim
I'll live my life remembering
His radiant smile,
His gentleness, compassion, strength.
and all the while
Try with all my heart to be like Him
and seek the lost,
dying to myself to do His will
at any cost.
And not pursuing earthly treasures
nor crouched in fear,
I'll seek out souls that suffered much like I
and hold them dear
remembering His love that swelled
and never died,
remembering the bruised and beaten child
I was inside.
He picked me up and held me close
and I became His bride.
We call him Jesus, don't you know
I love Him so.
