ADD TO MY FAVORITES
no moment’s delay, nor too soon to start.
Help me accomplish Your will—not my own.
Flow your work through me to make Your name known.
When the day’s finished please let me find rest,
enjoying Your heartbeat—my head on your chest.
Teach me to give by the scars in your hands.
Your palms were pierced to meet my sin’s demands.
Help me release all I have and I hold
to lavish on others the gifts you’ve bestowed.
And when all is given, replenish anew.
Pour it right through me—to glorify You.
Teach me to trust by the lead of Your will.
When tempted to strive—please help me be still.
Your ways are higher and better and true.
Just help me remember that I am not You.
When life seems hopeless, and bitter, and lost
help me hold on to Your pearl of great cost.
Teach me to see by the aid of Your light.
Your Word shows me clearly what’s wrong and right,
but truth can get lost—in life, dimly lit.
I need Your Spirit to clarify it.
And when life is done, and I close my eyes
I’ll see your face fully, at my Spirit’s rise.
