If I had created people, I would have made men and women the same in their thinking, and emotionally. That way, men would understand women and how they 'feel', and women wouldn't have to ask for help all the time. I probably wouldn't have thought twice about how men and women might end up accomplishing nothing as they sit together sharing tears over their children who are unable to provide for themselves, because they were brought up in a home where there was no authority figure to guide their family. The children would have no idea what it means to give and take or how to compromise when differences arise. But at least we would all know how each other feels!
Speaking of children, I would have made it to where there was no sickness or death so we wouldn’t have to see anyone suffer. I would have made our bodies so infallible that we could fall down and skin our knee, but there would be no pain or blood. This way we could all be spared the agony of watching our loved ones hurting. For that matter, spare us from the pain as well. As a result, we definitely would become overpopulated, not having enough resources to provide for those who have been on the earth since Adam. (Of course, that’s if I chose to create Adam in the first place!) We would never know the depths to which we love each other, because we would never have opportunity to miss them when they were taken from us. If we never had to tend to a bleeding wound, we would never know how delicate and fragile we humans truly are, nor would we have learned to be gentle and kind to our fellow man.
In the final analysis, if I had been the creator, I’m certain I would have botched it up in a major way. I’m so glad God did the job right, the first time. Because of His awesome wonder and His ability to see beyond today, I can know love, joy, fulfillment, contentment, and peace. Because He has it all under control, I can also know what it means to hate, feel despair, be in want, and experience turmoil. The difference between the two, however, is that because God is alive and well, and He lives in me, I can be confident that the sun will rise again in the morning, and I am able to face whatever may come.
