And walks so humbly, no, not proud?
Throngs follow him, the sick, the lame,
And he heals them all in his sweet name.
Who is this man who calms the seas
And calms his friend’s cries and pleas?
He calmed the lake with a quick command.
The crew was astonished; they were soon on land.
Who is this man who cures disease,
Gives life to the dead and sickness seize?
A woman healed by the touch of his garment –
A blood issue healed that finally went dormant.
Who is this man that the demons fear
Who cling to their victims year after year?
He threw demons in pigs with power so great
That the man so delivered was amazed at his fate.
And who am I, a Pharisee,
Righteous, proud and so holy.
I know the scriptures forth and back,
And I judge sinners when they’re slack.
But this man from Galilee
Seems so pure it troubles me.
A suffering Messiah, a savior from sin,
O’er death a sweet victory’s win.
I thought the Savior would come in might,
A brilliant, glorious, radiant sight,
To conquer Rome and all our foes –
To save the nation God has chose.
Some say he is God’s own son.
How can there be three Gods in one?
Is this a modern fallacy
To further this man’s heresy?
He can’t be God, He must be mad!
His death will make the righteous glad.
There are plans to have him crucified
So folks forget that he has died.
But I must choose and lose my stance,
A very trying circumstance.
I’ll worship him eternally
Because by faith he set me free.
Who is this man that stirs the crowd
With power o’er death, he’s endowed.
He’s Jesus Christ, the suffering King,
Who creates and rules o’er everything!
