Through His Word, He revitalizes our minds in experiencing encouragement and peace when we are feeling low and frustrated. The book of Philippians gives us strength in all we do; teaches us how to pray, and gives us peace without understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). The Bible sprinkles a spirit of power, love, and discipline into our lives to create a solid foundation ( 2 Timothy 1:7). God does not produce unhealthy recipes. He knows the best seasonings for perfection, sifted together with a heavenly dollop of joy.
Through His blessings, we go about our daily lives, not realizing the little spices of compassion He offers us. The variety of food extracts and oils that go into a special dish is similar to a family with assorted personalities, like a Neapolitan mixture of love to comfort one another. We can all relate to these special times that catch us by surprise:
A cool shower on a hot summer afternoon
The dew on a newly opened rose
Children laughing at the bus stop
A roadrunner peeking through the bushes
A mountain top lathered in cotton-like clouds
The smell of coffee brewing in the kitchen
A friendly smile from a stranger
The purring of a cat or a dog's cuddle
Ears to hear your favorite song
A contented feeling after a good meal
The colorful foliage on an autumn day
Snow flurries on a Christmas morning
A warm bubble bath after a hard day
A newborn baby’s first cry
Holding hands around the table in prayer
The still, quiet voice of God
In addition to these wonderful blessings, God also give us his protection, preserving the quality of our existence. He moves hurricanes away from shores, uses his angels to rescue us, and enlists doctors for healing. Just as we decipher a complicated recipe, we must be careful not to allow damaged or unacceptable products into the mix. Only the freshest ingredients will make a wholesome, non-perishable dish that will keep its appealing taste longer than others. In comparison, the Armor of God preserves our faith and weeds out any evil we encounter (Ephesians 6:11) on our path to spiritual fulfillment.
The flavorful blend of God’s love through His Word, His blessings, and protection, enriches our lives as we rally in His special banquet of soulful nourishment.
