Stop tourists from passing,
Kitschy roadside stops.
So veer off the highway,
And visit the byways,
Out-of-the-way cultural spots.
From cow chip queens
To cattle roping kings,
So many sights along the way.
From Seattle’s Gum Wall
To the world’s largest pig hairball,
Places not to miss in the U.S.A.
From kissing the Blarney Stone,
To seeing the English gnomes,
Travel Europe’s Celtic lands.
From a Ramen Museum in Japan
To an Exhibition of Oriental fans,
Glimpse items never seen before.
Tchotchkes line the shelves,
Furnishing fun and fascinating finds:
Mugs, t-shirts, key chains, and hats.
The expensive “Made in China” gifts,
Leave shoppers feeling stiffed,
So small trinkets are bought instead.
Snares have been set,
Worldly traveler be alert,
The path on which you choose;
Earthly pleasures seem appealing,
But may leave you reeling,
When the Abyss stares back at you.
