Your eyes, like the far edge of a passing storm carrying promises of serenity, whisper to my soul through my own; and though my mind loses its skills of interpretation and begs for understanding for what I already know, you indulge such importunity with another I love you, with as much emphasis as the first time.
Your patience, by its very virtue, demands, or at the very least deserves the award of reciprocation. I inhale, taking in the rapturous sight of your newly shaved head upon your muscular shoulders which sends my heart pounding, and exhale, remembering that whatever vexations I plague you with are fleeting, and not worth the cost of separation, if momentary, from your puissant embrace.
I am often surprised by your features, both soft and coarse, like the days when you wear velvet and forget to shave. Your rounded chin covered with long stubble, your angular jaw with a smile exploding through weariness, the careworn wrinkles at twenty-four accentuating the genuineness of your laugh: I could not replicate these with words.
