From Mom’s old empty flowerpot
To Dad’s most favorite dozing spot
In his chair or anywhere
That kitty sleeps in funny spaces and odd places

Once I found her in my cowboy hat
I giggle when I think of that, and down inside
My bag of books and other
Silly cozy nooks

She really loves to snore and snooze
On top of sister’s fuzzy shoes and on
Fresh clothes right from the dryer and
In the bookshelf –or even higher

Sometimes she takes a morning nap
On my sweet Grandma’s ample lap
Or in the oval bathroom sink
(She really could get wet, I think)

Since she sleeps the day away
And sometimes in the night she plays
It isn’t really very strange
That she hasn’t time to make a change

So…it seems to me the fur
That covers all of purring her
Has to be Gray Jammies with those Little white-pawed feet...
Which is pretty neat

In a second she can doze off
Without taking any clothes off
Like all happy little Kittens
She can wash herself, and her socks and mittens

Then go back to close her sleepy eyes
In order to become a Pet who’s wise
Just like us little kids who rest
So we'll be smart and strong and blessed

Now she’s curled upon my bed
All clean and happy and well-fed
I say my prayers then hug my Momma
Thankful for the love she gives to me…and for my cat who wears pajamas.
