Bugs
they’re everywhere
I feel them crawling
in my hair
(and even in my underwear).
Ants are marching
two by two.
A beetle climbs
into my shoe.
Spiders creep
through grass and weeds
alongside leggy
centipedes.
A June bug smacks
against my head.
I see more coming -
I want them dead!
Bugs
Bugs
so many bugs!
Earwigs,
crickets
white, slimy slugs.
A grasshopper jumps
onto my back -
so many bugs
I can’t keep track!
Flies are swarming
in my face.
They make my cheeks
their landing place.
Beez and wasps
buzz in my ear
Their stingers
fill my heart with fear!
Slithering worms
inch toward my toes
Moths are nesting
in my clothes.
Mosquitoes, roaches
fleas galore..
I just can’t take it
anymore!
I shut my eyes
and squinch them tight.
I shout out loud
with all my might.
AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!
I’m in my bed -
no need to scream
I wipe my brow...
It was just a dream.
Bugs
Bugs
still everywhere
I close my eyes
and say a prayer.
"Please help me get
some sleep tonight
and if bugs come back,
don’t let them bite."
I reach down to
the floor to find
a little extra
peace of mind.
I do feel better
because I prayed
But just in case...
I’ve got my Raid.

This was great.
Thanks, and God bless,

Loed the last line too! What a hoot!
Very enjoyable.
Great work.
I think the last line clinched it for you. ;)
Enjoy dear friend. Love,
Pat
I can imagine this as a fantastic book, with really bright colors of large animated bugs, being read to a group of kindergarten children squealing with delight. Loved it.
