When from a loving heart
A desire within to do a deed
That God's grace doth impart
No motive other than the other's good
To be our highest aim
And then enjoy the fellowship
With our fellow man
The permeating presence of
His Spirit in that place
Gives us satisfaction of
His Providential Grace
Could be angels in our presence
This is what we're told
How to treat such kindly strangers?
Treat them friend as gold
Special moments like this
Could be Godly heirs
Could be were entertaining
Angels unawares
But if they're not don't hold back
Hospitable desires
For all good gifts come down from God
The believer's True Desire
Keep your eyes on lookout then
Watching through the day
See ye some poor stranger
Give your hospitality away!
God sends such dear one's to us
To test us in this matter
Are we giving a cold drink in His name
Then let us friend get at er
With joyful heart and patient peace
Await each day with gladness
We could be God's Mercy Men
Helping others in their sadness.
