She stepped back to view herself in the mirror squeezing her body tightly into the corset she wore to conceal her three-month pregnant belly, taking no thought of her indifference to the matter.
Cindy was a heroin addict that led her to become a scarlet woman. Her pregnancy was a result.
Her typical morning routine after hurling her guts out was, to shower, put her face on, dress in provocative attire, down two shots of whiskey and head out the door.
As she sashayed ostentatiously down the street passers-by would yell “get off the street you ho,” while others would slow down with lust in their eyes and howl, “Hey baby I’ll take you home tonight and do you right!” She’d look their way and smile hoping one would pull over and pick her up.
However, this day would be different for Cindy. As she sauntered along, a white limousine pulled over just in front of her. The back passenger door opened automatically. She didn’t know what to think, "Wow, this is trip!" She mused. She stepped off the curb and entered.
In front of her was a golden tabletop bearing a sparkling fragrant beverage in a crystal chalice. A zealous voice remarked, “Welcome, Cindy. I’ve taken the pleasure in providing you a drink for the road. Relax and enjoy, you’ll be here shortly.”
"This isn’t happening," thought Cindy. "Thank god I have this drink to unwind. I wonder if he’s got any Junk too."
Sipping her beverage she began to feel a tingling sensation, not the same tingling that numbed her mind and body so many times before. This was invigorating, mind refreshing; one that was liberating her body from the pain and nauseating sickness she had for so long experienced. "I feel fantastic, like a new person!" She thought. "What’s going on?"
Suddenly, the limo stopped in front of a luxurious gilded mansion. “I have to be dreaming!” Cindy said aloud. She pinched her arm to be sure in fact she wasn’t. Again, autopilot opened the back passenger door. As she stepped out, before her, stood a man wearing a snow-white tuxedo. Red crimson teardrops streamed his vest. Cindy asked, “Where am I and what’s going on?”
He spoke. “Welcome Cindy! And no, I have no Junk here.” Instantly she knew it was the same man’s voice she’d heard in the limo.
"How did he know I was looking for Junk? He wasn’t even in the limo and I only thought it, I didn’t speak it." She mumbled.
He positioned himself beside her, took her arm in his and escorted her along a golden path that led to the mansion doors. Nearing the doors they opened and when they entered Cindy was speechless. Everything glistened! Golden pillars and spiral staircases made of gems unimaginable were only a few of the extravagancies. It was too much for her to believe.
“Cindy, I want this to be your home one day but that can’t happen unless you accept me exclusively as your Bridegroom and you must give up the Junk in exchange for what you see here. What do you say? Will you marry me?”
Cindy balked at the idea thinking this was some kind of cruel joke being played on her by one of her presumed friends. "Yeah right, this guy wants to marry me? I’m sorry sir, but you must not know what kind of woman I am. I can’t marry you it wouldn’t work out.” She retorted.
“I know all about you Cindy. I know you hold a child in your womb that will need a Father and I will treat him as my very own. Accept me.”
Tears streamed down Cindy’s face. She ran out of the mansion got back in the limo and demanded, “Take me home.”
Heaving into the porcelain god she’d become too acquainted with over the past few years, Cindy thought, "what a cruel taskmaster …"

Wonderful story.
I was really grabbed by your fifth paragraph where Cindy is being yelled at by the people passing by. "What would that be like?" I found myself wondering.
Thanks for sharing.
So many unfortunate people feel as if they have to clean up for the bridegroom and ultimately miss the wedding feast.
