no rest for the weary.
My bone's ache
and spirit leery
of all the changes
I need to make...
New Year, new times,
I am still clinging to the vine;
scared to move
yet petrified to stay the same.
Lord, are you here?
I call your name -
is it all in vain?
I know it is not
for I recall
too many times
You sat with me
while I was weeping
feeling lost and all alone.
Your warmth comforted me.
Though in the dark,
I could sing and dance yet again.
Enveloped
by Your spark,
the precious Holy Spirit,
my spirit rejoices
with Yours.
I am shedding
my scales once more...
At times,
as I grow old,
I feel more and more alone
like there is no where to turn,
like I have no home.
Not even my home is home...
Then I realize
my heavenly Father
is performing a surgery
deep within.
I only pray I will become
more and more like Him.
Slowly learning to
rest my weary head
on Daddy's lap --
holding nothing back,
I look for approval
only from Him.
Desiring love and affection
makes it hard
to be satisfied with Him alone.
Yet when I am,
He is always more than enough!

I can relate with the narrator of your poem. Nicely done.

That is my prayer, too!
You did a nice job with this! :)
