Topic: Game (12/06/12)
"Now, the game show where you can always win a prize, its 'Life or Consequences'. Here’s your host Burt Deal." The crowd roared as they rose to their feet.

"Thank you, Our contestants are backstage in a sound-proof room. We'll be asking a life-changing question. Johnny, who's our first contestant?"

"We have 47 year old, Greg Chos, an accountant, from Madison, Wisconsin."
He sprinted onto the stage hooting and hollering while jumping up and down.

"Welcome to 'Life Or Consequences'. Before we ask the question, Johnny tell Greg about the prizes."

"Well Greg, If you give the right answer, you’ll win what is behind door number one. You’ll fly on 777 airlines for an all-expense paid to trip Heaven. Upon arrival, an angel of light will accompany you to your mansion, where you’ll have a round-the-clock dining and room service. Most of all, you will have peace forever and will meet the Lord Jesus Christ.

"If you answer incorrectly, you'll win a trip to Hell on Torment Airlines. There the fire is burns 24 hours a day. No problem getting a sun tan there. Darkness and trembling will follow you for the rest of your life. Not to mention you'll have some one on one time with the devil. Now back to you Burt."

Burt pumped his fists in the air. Then when he lowered them the audience quieted down.

"Okay Greg, are you ready for the question?"

Greg gave Burt a thumbs up . "I can't wait to answer the question!" A few people clapped in the crowd and whistled.

"You'll have sixty seconds to give me the answer to the question."

Burt thumbed through his cards in a attempt to draw out the suspense. "What do you have to do to receive eternal life?"

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock… Sweat poured down Greg’s face as he stared off into space.

"Greg, your sixty seconds are up. What's your answer?"

Greg‘s eyes narrowed. "You have to live a good life."

Buzzzz "Sorry, you're wrong. The gate agents for Torment Airlines will escort you to your flight. "

"No, you can't send me to Hell! No, that‘s unfair…" Two muscular agents forced Greg off of the stage kicking and screaming.

The big screens turned black and the lights lit up in the auditorium. Pastor Mark walked up to the podium. “What happened on 'Life Or Consequences' is a preview of the future. It'll be real, not some game show. Greg didn’t have the correct answer to the question. The right answer is placing your faith in Jesus Christ. There will be a day in the future where you'll have an appointment with the Lord Jesus Christ. You won‘t be able to cancel it. No one who knows when this meeting will take place. Are you ready?"

I am so glad that this wasn't 'for real' and that Greg still has a chance!

You pulled this off well producing a story that is a fun read with a very real message.

I think this was a super creative take on the topic. Though my grandma used to love game shows when trying to think of a topic this didn't enter my mind at all. Plus you also pair it with the perfect message.

Great job! You kept the story moving well and the dialogue went right along with it. It's a totally realistic situation that I can easily see in a church service. Tied in with the topic perfectly and wrapped up your message as well. A well-deserved placing. :)
