As I finish watering, I move on to wash the car. I go to switch the hose to another faucet, and there it is…sliming across the water on the ground…the snake. I try to hold in my scream feeling like I am about to burst, but no need to scare the neighbors and get the dogs barking. I repeat to myself: The snake is harmless, he helps the garden, he will not hurt me, he is harmless. Lucky for him I don’t have a spade in my hand.
After washing the car, I put all the soap and cloths away, roll up the hose and put it by the faucet…no snake around. Upon my return to the car, I notice a new marking on my car not there before. It is a gift from a passing bird, probably the big robin in the tree above who almost looked like he was gloating in his target practice.
I wipe my brow from the high humidity experienced today. Breathing in the heavy air, and wishing for a light breeze to dry the damp clothes clinging to my body with sweat. Where is there relief?
Aaaah! In about four months, the first flakes of winter will cover the irritants of summer. The bugs will be gone, along with the snakes. I won’t be sweating, but rejoicing in the beauty of the still whiteness that makes everything seem clean. No sweating, just cozying with a hot steaming cup of cocoa while wrapped in my quilt. The lights that twinkle during this time add to the celebration of winter. I crave the cool beauty of the season. I am not ashamed…I love winter!

This might be considered a bit light on topic, and I'm not sure I understand the title.
