what do you see?
Can you peer inside?
Thoughts are swirling
my spirit is grieving
my heart is ripped open wide.
For on this morn
when I awoke
All wasn’t as it appeared,
I heard a sound
a trumpet blowing
dread rose in me plus fear.
Time must be mixed
‘cause it was still dark
Oh God, the sun was black,
the moon was red
there was no breeze
a shiver ran up my back.
Somehow within
I knew the time
and it wasn’t on a clock,
something to do
with a Man who stood
hand poised, ready to knock.
“Get right with God
before it’s too late “
I often heard them say,
“Ill have lots of time
and loads of fun
before that dreadful day.
Yes, I believe in God
and I know the Word
is true,
but I’ve done lots of good stuff
I’m sure to get my due.
There’s no such thing
as Hell”
at least that’s what I thought.
it isn’t looking good
for the pat answers
that I sought.
My vision is now cloudy
from the tears
I cannot see,
I know it’s time too late
as I fall
upon my knees.
The stories that I’ve read
I never thought
they could be real,
so I did not call
upon His name
I do not bear His seal.
If I had my life
to live over
I’d tell you with all might,
make a decision
no matter the cost
to follow Jesus Christ.
While you still
have breath within you
and the power of choice,
listen closely and say, “yes”
when you hear
His seeking voice.
In the midst
of all the noise
discern and hear it true,
a gentle calling
“come to Me child
already I love you.”
You cannot change
the past
but the future God will hold,
He’s been searching
all over for you
