Lost phrases written in the dew
with many words, but answers few
feeble ramblings spilling forth
searching for something that’s of worth.
Artistic dreams lie in the dust
rhyming delight all filled with rust,
shadow’s curse begins to shine
beauty’s glance is never mine.
Words fade away without a mark
readers left, plunging in the dark
expression wanders away from me
bruised and broken; I cannot see.
My fragile heart consumed by shame
scarlet garment, is all I claim
creation’s flair now starts to rot
stained by self, worthy - I am not!
Amidst this rain, His mercy came
now touched by love I’m not the same
pursued by grace, seen in His frame
on rugged cross He took my blame.
The Word of life has come to me
not abstract now, at last I’m free
carved in flesh, my name in His
my worth defined by what He says.
the dew may fade, but His truth will not….
Isaiah 49:16 ESV Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.
Note: The writing process can leave you feeling deflated and unworthy. Inadequate words written that fail to fully capture the true essence of God’s love and grace. However, our worth is not defined by what we write or say or do, but by what He has done and says. May we always grasp this truth as we struggle through this life - holding onto the love, joy and hope that Christ provides. Enjoying forever the intimacy of His favour.

And a reminder to me that:
