Domestic cats, wild cats,
jungle cats, bad cats
and hep cats.
Aslan, Dick Whittington’s Cat,
Puss-In-Boots, Old Possums
Book of Practical Cats,
Snaggle Puss, Mr. Junks and
the Aristocrats, just to
name a few.
For a four-footed creature
that has four paws and
a vastly twitching tail.
We as the human race
have been enchanted, perhaps
even bewitched by
these lithesome creatures
that come in numerous
patterns, colors, shapes and sizes.
To the Egyptians they
were gods. Many a sailing
ship in centuries past has had
a very furry and purring crew mate
to keep the mice and rats at bay.
Unfortunately, by the Middle Ages,
the coal black, midnight black
and generally, all black cats
were viewed as evil and the
confidants of witches and sorcerer’s
Thankfully and by God’s grace we’ve
finally learned to accept them for what they
truly are, whether they be a companion of the home
or a wanderer of the desert, the jungle or our
over active imaginations.
A wondrous part of God’s creation.
Gen:1:24 “And God said Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind…and it was good.”
