Who we can hold in our arms, and in our heart;
And needs to be nurtured, loved and made secure
Trained in selflessness and sharing from the start.
Early on living seems to be all about ‘Me’,
The things that I desire and the things that I need;
Like eating and holding, my ma-ma for sure
That I should become the best I can be.
GOAL: Learning to Trust
They say life comes in stages where we must grow,
To learn about living a life beyond self and ‘Me’ ;
They say I’m at the ‘Gimmie’ stage, who knew?
Speaking in little words and pointing to my need
Ma-ma it’s time for my Baba, ‘Gimmie’ .
Across the room, my little stuffed lamb rests,
Ma-ma, see it…my toy. I want it. ‘Gimmie’
Ma-ma, I’m hungry, feed me…’Gimmie’ Num-num.
GOAL: Learning to Say Please/Thank You
Barely into the Toddler stage, I must learn,
Another Ma-Ma to baby good lesson;
Whatever is in my hand, it’s not Mine!
Whatever is in your hand, it’s not Mine!
Whatever I can see or desire it’s not Mine!
Good things are meant to be shared with others,
So hold them loosely in your sweet little hands;
And bring fun, joy and togetherness to one another.
GOAL: Learning to Share
