I have a new case. This one will be a challenge. She’s a widow in the autumn of her life fighting for the soul of her granddaughter. I loathe cases involving long-established believers poking their folded hands into our business. We already own the target. The parents and her brother are near the drop off point, as well, due to the household chaos. Our other soldiers have goaded the granddaughter from haughty to defiant to deceptive. She’s tasted her first sexual transgression and is now experimenting with numbing opiates. I suggested we could take her now – you know a little overdose would do the trick – but my superiors fear losing the rest of the family with such a definitive outcome. Sorrow and grief can be unpredictable as family members may opt for prayer and light instead of anger and guilt. My task is to thrust the grandmother from autumn - to fall and then to harvest.
My direct report is Captain Envy who reports to General Wrath and I have the approval of both to include you in this attack, my dear Lieutenant Pride, as we have worked well together in past battles. Their plan is simple. The grandmother is a well respected Christian woman in both her church and community. We charged with fostering gossip among both these communities for a slanderous assault injuring the pride of the grandmother. Under the resulting blanket of humiliation, anger and fear it’s believed by our superiors the grandmother will stop her commiserating with The Enemy giving us free passage to the granddaughter and the rest of the family. Lieutenant, I hope you can provide support on this mission. I anxiously await your thoughts. – My best, Sergeant Slander.

Great delivery.
I loved your creative way of approaching the topic which you nailed in an utterly fascinating way...
Blessings~
This was one of my favorites this week.
I really liked this entry. My one suggestion would be to separate your writing into two or three paragraphs and double-space between them.
Congratulations on your second place finish in the Intermediate Division.
Keep up the great writing
