My human-parents set up a heat fan that kept us even warmer. The rustic wood-frame barn was cozy with its straw floors and quaint rooms.
We shared the barn with Hilda, Bossy-Momma, Ellie-May, and Queen-Bertha, the farm’s milking cows. Sir-Ralph and Lord-Wilbert were the bulls on the farm. Hogusta, Tiny-Tot, and Boogie-Woogie were hogs that lived in the back of the barn.
The next few days, were oh so cold with lots of snow. My eyes were closed, but soon that would change. Finally, my little eyes opened. Wow! I had no idea of how magnificent the world was.
I knew at that moment a supreme being was responsible for creating all of the marvelous things around me. I realized that the Supreme Being was God of the Bible.
My sisters and I loved rolling around and barking loudly at each other. One day it snowed hard, and all of my sisters and I had the time of our life rolling, running, sliding, and making snow puppy angels.
One day, my Corgi parents did something amazing. Momma and papa chased the cows from the pasture all the way to the barn. They worked as a team with papa nipping at the cow’s ankles, and momma chasing them back to papa all the way until the cows made it inside of the barn.
Queen-Bertha fussed at papa for biting just a bit too hard on her ankles. Queen-Bertha later apologized to momma because Bertha knew momma and papa were doing their job to keep her and the other cows safe and sound.
One day, a stranger came to our farm and took one of my sisters away. I was sad and missed her very much. Not long after that, my other sisters were taken away. However, I still had momma and papa to play with and snuggle with on cold nights.
One day, my farm parents took me on a ride in the farm truck to what turned out to be an airport. I was placed in a big box thing that had holes in the side and top.
I was so scared. Momma and Papa were nowhere around. My crate was placed in a dark cold area with other crates that had pups like me in them. We soon landed in a place known as Baton Rouge.
I was taken to an area with a lot of people moving around very fast.
In front of my crate were 2 people I had never seen before. They took my crate to their car, and soon we arrived at a strange, but comfy place. I soon realized that the 2 people were my new human parents!
It was love at first sight with my new human parents. I followed them everywhere.
When I was about a year and a half old, I got really sick. I did not know if I would make it. My human parents took me to a doctor that takes care of dogs and cats.
He removed 21 kidney stones during surgery. It took me a while to get better, and soon I was just fine. I met one of my best friends in my life.
My new friend was Garfield, the yellow tabby cat that lived next door. Garfield and I loved to roll around and wrestle. I loved Garfield, and had so much fun playing with him. We were best friends for over a year. Garfield and I shared a common bond that was the love of God, our creator.
One day I could not find Garfield and became worried. My human parents helped me to look for Garfield. We never found Garfield, and I was sad for a long time about the loss of my dear friend.
I know I will see Garfield one day in Heaven. I believe this with all of my little heart.
We moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina when I was 3 years old. I love the mountains very much. The fall colors are as close as I think you can get to what Heaven looks like.
My human parents take me walking daily. George, the 13 year-old dog across the street, is now my best friend. God loves me and my human parents, and that makes me a happy pup!
