Very good job of capturing the loneliness and desolation of war, and then giving us (and your protagonist) hope.
Very touching story. War is a terrible place for men to die. As long as the Savior is there, they do not have to die alone. God, visit our men and women overseas. Protect them and fill their hearts with Your love and peace. Amen.
