I cannot speak for others, because I do not walk in their shoes. I look into the mirror and see myself, and who better, other than God, knows the person looking back from the mirror then the one standing in front of it.
My heart is inherently evil, and without God in my life I can do nothing. He is the mainstay of life. God created everything, and He is the reason we all live. God knows all things, but man still tries to hide things from Him.
How do I guard my heart? I put on the full armor of God each morning, because without it the old devil, and his minions do everything in their power to catch me unaware.
God instructs me through His Living Word such as Proverbs 4:20-23. “My son, pay attention to what I say turn your ear to my words, Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
The Lord instructs not only myself, but all people to avoid anger, pride and temptations of all kinds, because we are locked in a constant intense war with demonic forces.
The Holy Living Word of God is my guide through this life. By reading, studying and meditating on His Word such as Philippians 4:6-9 which reads as follows: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. I place a guard fence around my heart. It is by His power, and the blood of Christ that I am sealed to spend eternity with my LORD and SAVIOR. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy---think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me---put it into practice, And the God of peace will be with you.”

The only thing I might suggest is to expand a bit more on the verses. Give some examples of how that verse made a difference in your life.
I can tell you have a passion for sharing the Word with others and you are doing a great job. Keep writing the stories that God places on your heart and know he uses your words to touch others in ways you can't even begin to imagine.
