In these gatherings we miss those who are no longer there. We have sustained losses, some uncles, aunts, parents, grandparents, and children may have passed away. Our hearts long for them. Though we enjoy the time that we have together remembering when they were here with us. We remember the good, the bad, and the indifferent. My mother was the voice that I love and hated. If she were here I could hear her saying, ”I told you so!” I would laugh and agree. So many memories of the ones who impacted our lives. I can't help wondering what it will be like in glory when my mother, father, grandmother, and grandfather will be there to worship and praise the Lord together.
When we enter into glory there will not be any discussions of our past life, as will there be no infirmity or pain in spirit. The happiness and joy that we had to constantly condition our minds to operate in will be abundant, all encompassing, and unchanging. I can only imagine that reunion. When all the faithful of the Lord are changed and we all glorify Him! When we take no thought for the future, no updates are needed, there is no need to discuss what is to come, no failure, no loss, no pain, no agitations and no disappointments whatsoever. I will meet my relatives from all over the world, from diverse cultures and languages. We will know one another, sister and brothers I never knew in my earthly life will be known by the spirit of God. We will all feast with Christ in heaven, singing and praising the God of our salvation. You know... that's my kind of party!
