That’s what life is made of.
If it weren’t for idealists,
There wouldn’t be love.
Values may be compromised,
With love esteemed too low,
And when you’re doubtless tested,
The upward flight is slow.
As you spread your wings,
And sour into the air,
Eternity’s calling engulfs you,
To lift you from despair.
Change is contagious,
As is complacency,
Challenging growth
Is the step toward reality.
You question the earthly,
When the earthly doesn’t fly,
Transfixed in one spot,
You begin to wonder why.
The beginning of knowledge
Is the beginning of sorrow,
With wasted yesterdays
Aching for tomorrow.
A feeling of lost time,
Moves into today,
And only through ideals,
Can love replace dismay.
The beginning of truth,
Is honesty from within,
Realizing that love
Is where you’ve always been.
It’s just those doubts
Having clouded love’s vision,
When a greater need to receive
Blocks what’s already given.
Walk away from complacency,
And give your all to love,
Love will give it back again,
As it meets you from above.
And when you’ve received
What idealists hold most high,
You’ve attained forever love,
Your rainbow in the sky.
