Really? Then explain to Cain why the gifts he brought were so unfavorable to the Lord.
Being out of favor with God is an unpleasant place, but oh, to be in Favor, that is where real joy lies.
I know that being in favor doesn’t mean I will never suffer. If I could talk to Joseph about his early years…but, I must remember how it turned out. Food for all! And wealth beyond measure. Joseph really had the opportunity to say “How do you like me now?” to those who sold him out. Yet favor with God humbled him enough to put all of that behind him and embrace his brothers with love and forgiveness.
“I love all my children the same,” said the mother of two. “But, I will admit that sometimes I have to remind myself of that when I am dealing with Andrew!” Andrew, the one that is hard headed, stubborn and always getting into trouble.
“Why can’t he be more like his brother Jason? Jason is always trying to please me. He does his chores without being told, he does his homework, and even cleans his room. I rarely have to tell him twice to do anything. Jason is rewarded for good behavior so often that it might appear that I love him more.”
“God knows I want to reward Andrew more often, if he would only behave!”
There is something about her that the King loves above all the others. Esther found out from Hegai ( the keeper of the women) what the king liked and she set out to please him. She was a smart girl. She was favored above all who “Apprenticed“ for the Queen‘s position.
Favoritism. A word that is widely misused by a spoiled people who do not want to do what it takes to be pleasing.
