Topic: BAGGAGE (02/08/18)
As my friend, Anna, walked toward me it was obvious that things were not right with her. In the spirit, I saw her laden with many bags as if she was planning to leave the country for a long time. This baggage made everyday life a chore for her. I wondered if it were possible to persuade her to lay it aside. What could be inside it? Was there anything packed in it that she should keep? I doubted it. What if she wanted to hang on to it?



Jesus gave me authority over the spirits that were oppressing her but He did not give me authority over her will. I began praying for her while she was still across the crowded floor. I perceived a bag called “rejection”, another, “hurt”. A third bag was “self-loathing”. I saw also “physical pain” and “abuse”. Doubt, depression, and lack of forgiveness formed a seemingly invisible force field over every bag.



As Anna entered my space, the Holy Spirit in me pushed me aside and I heard these words come out of my mouth: “My dear friend, Anna, you can be free from all of the excess baggage that you are carrying through life". To my surprise and delight, she responded: “Really, how?” Cautiously I asked her if she really wanted that. She said, “Yes!”



We were in a department store so I whisked her into the ladies fitting room where we could be alone. I told her that we have to pray. I asked her what was in those bags. One by one, she mentioned all of the issues that the Lord had shown me: rejection, hurt, self-loathing, physical pain and abuse. One by one we brought those things to Jesus. We rebuked all evil spirits involved in the mighty Name of Jesus.



Through giddy tears, she exclaimed: “I feel so light that I think that I just might float up to heaven!” She walked out of the fitting room free to be the woman that God had created her to be. As for me, I was singing His praises and dancing through the aisles!

This was a lovely story and something I needed to hear right now as I've been struggling to release all of the baggage I've been carrying and give everything over to God. Thank you for sharing.

I don't know why we carry unnecessary baggage, weighing ourselves down with unnecessary stress. Just hand it over to GOD and as your title says "Free from the Weight". Very nice story.
