Though there are things which we hold on to which can be truth. There is only one truth which is not debatable and this is the word of God or any other statement backed by the word of God. Christians are very keen on love and grace, and we should be but we are usually numb on truth sometimes. Probably because the world tries to give us a tough time when we try insisting on the truth, those particularly backed by the word of our Lord. And this maybe because, the truth can be hot and spicy. Like hot peppers, it burns the fingers of the one who holds on to it, the one who eats it and the one whom it is dished out to. Because of this we are not particularly fun of the spicy truth.
There are certain things that are expected of us as children of the Most High. We are to hold on to them, live them out everyday by deed and word of mouth, and share them with others. Compromising on them shouldn’t be an option even if it burns a lot. We are always quick to forgo the truth with an excuse of being loving. “It would hurt him if I do that, we would say, even though that it the right and honest thing to do.†Or “I would ruin the moment if I do that, lets just go with it for today, we would often think.â€
However, love is embodied in truth. To love someone is to owe the person truth in love. And to love God is to be faithful in living out HIS truth everyday. Its not always fun or easy to tell or live out truth, just like easy spicy foods especially when it makes you look terrible or put you in uncomfortable situations. Instead of dimming out the truth, why not dim out yourself and everyone else from the situation and focus on what God expects of you. Do what Jesus will do, we often say.. well then truth has a name, Jesus. He is an embodiment of grace and truth (John 1:14). These are not just written words, its a life lived by our Saviour Himself. He is an embodiment of love, grace, goodness, and truth. He will tell it as it is (Matthew 23:1-7), live it and not stand by and watch people get away with what displeases the Father (Matthew 21:12).
There are some days when we don’t like to eat spicy foods, but we can’t be picky about truth like we do with food. We are called to have both grace and truth, you love and care when the person doesn’t deserve it but not withhold truth when its needed to be shared and received. Its not always about chilling out, sometimes, we need to dish it out too. Dishing it out not just for others but for ourselves as well, and consuming it when it is dished out to us. There is truth for a reason, it will always set us free. It’s a bit difficult to imagine having a peaceful relaxed feeling after having something spicy but hey the Lord does work in mysterious ways.
Food being spicy doesn’t mean it tastes bad, and so is truth. Just like spicy foods, you have to try it and keep at it. Before you know it becomes irresistible no matter how difficult it may seem, I know because I love spicy food. You have been made for it, I know this because, we have been raised with Christ to live like Him (Colossians 3:1; Philippians 1: 21) and if that is who Jesus is then so are we. He will show us just how to live like Him.

This would make a great devotional if you tweaked it a bit.
I would try and vary the word spicy so you can tighten up the piece.
I believe you meant to use the word fond of instead of fun of.
Keep writing.
God's word says what it says and it means what it says.
We need to remember; we will be judged by our words - what we say and what we don't say - as well as what we choose to do.
Good writing. Keep your heart in heaven and your eyes in his word.
