Excited, with a big smile on my face, I rushed downstairs to the kitchen, my cousin was having breakfast, and he looked at me and said:
“Good morning Priscilla”
I reply,
“Go...od morning Quill”
“Girl, why you in such a good mood so early in the morning?”
“I have a date”
“Who with?”
“You don’t know him, but I would love for you to meet him.”
“ Want to come with us?”
“Nope, three is a crowd.”
“Well not in this case, my friend loves people, and it would be a rewarding experience for you.”
“Next time, OK!”
“OK, but you missing out.”
If he knew my friend, he would be excited to go with us. One day I hope he’ll meet him, I know they would hit it off from the get-go.
My friend is quite the gentleman; he has a knack for showing me new things and shining new light on old things; there is never a dull moment with him. My friend is gifted; he’s a master tour guide. He’s very well known around the world, his clientele reads like the “whose-who” of Hollywood. His clients, regardless of their socio-economic status are given personal care, and V.I.P services; I love hanging out with him.
I made my way out the door, into my car, and before I drove off I put my favorite gospel worship CD on. As the songs soaked in my heart, my spirit began to soar, the power of God escalated and overtook me: I could not contain myself, and I erupted in Praise. Jeremiah 20:9 NLT “ . . . His word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in . . .! ”
I couldn’t sit still and driving became a bit difficult; I was exhausted trying to hold on to the steering wheel. As I continued to praise God vehemently, I became aware of an overwhelming presence in the car with me, and I knew my friend had entered.
“Welcome Holy Spirit”
“Thank you for meeting me!”
We spent quality time together fellowshipping, before reaching my destination.
I arrived at the church, (where our women group meets for prayers), drunk in the spirit. Not knowing that the Holy Spirit visited each lady beforehand, and they too had their time with him: He’s awesome like that.
He prepared all our hearts to be as one in the Spirit, so we would be unencumbered from our daily activities; we were completely free to immerse ourselves into worshipping the Lord.
I went in the sanctuary, greeted the ladies, and proceeded to engage in their conversation. Soon after we were ready to pray we jokingly said, “Let the fire roll” as we slapped hands together in agreement. The instance our hands touched, we felt a mighty force came upon us, we staggered backward and apart, and simultaneously we began speaking in tongues (Our heavenly prayer language). The experience reminded me of what happened on “The Day of Pentecost,”
Acts 2:1-4
We were reckless. We unintentionally took God’s presence for granted, making light of His power, when we made that powerful request. We were not expecting anything to come of it, we acted in disbelief, and the outcome caught us off guard. We looked at each other with astonishment in our eyes, quickly refocused, giving our undivided attention to the Lord. Our faith increased after seeing the power of God moved like it did; we prayed in faith believing with great expectation to receive from Him. Prayer was powerful! Later I vowed never to take God for granted.
Prayer is a two-way communication, which involve speaking and LISTENING. When our minds are occupied elsewhere we cannot effectively hear God, and we miss out on His directions and instructions.
Prayer is a great beginning to any day.

Great message.
Blessings~
I confess I was a little confused at the end of the story. First you talked about being immersed in the Spirit, and then you talked about taking prayer for granted.
Great message overall.
