Fixed and defined
Predictable and well-laid
Life is more than a holiday


It's a long journey
In the same direction
As someone says


It's unpredictable
You can't road map
It's an enduring race


Challenges abound
here and there
Change is the only constant


Sometimes straight
At times winding
It's really hard to define


Sometimes bright
other times gloomy
you can never tell


Occasional rain
then floods
later miry


Like a river
It meanders
It changes the course


Alas should we care
Let's live today
and die tomorrow


Come what may
I live fuzzy life my way
You mind yours


Is there a better way
Show me the path
I don't want to be in a maze


Come to Me the lost and stranded
I'll show you
the way the truth and the life


You need the truth
to find the way
without it there's no life


Though from above
I went through life here
I'll show you the way

This is really quite lovely and a wonderful message is included in the words. In my humble opinion, I think you may have missed the topic. Though lovely and thought-provoking, you never really talked about an actual vacation even though you mentioned the word holiday. If you were to take that one line out, I think it would be difficult to see a vacation in your piece, which is a great way to judge if an entry is on topic. With that said, I also believe that it's more important to write about what God calls you to write. And while life may not be a holiday, it is definitely a road trip. We all know the road to Heaven is narrow and difficult. I especially liked how you showed that Jesus does understand us. He's traveled on this earth and feels our pain and joy. Your words touched my heart.
