He was a true follower of Jesus Christ abiding in all doctrines.
Mary was a devout member of the same church as Dele.
The two fell in love and the church's marriage committee was informed of their proposed marriage.
It was approved; both were given all the necessary counsel.
After a year courtship, they purposed to solemnize their love affairs.
Preparations were made as invitation cards flew far and near to the high and low in the society.
The officiating ministers were regularly contacted.
Everything progressed as scheduled.
Everybody around Dele supported because they've been waiting for a joyful day like this in his life for long.
Peju, his younger sister was the most elated. She became intimate with Mary; she never denied her anything good and useful from her women's wears shop.
On Sunday preceeding the wedding day, Dele met with the church's Prayer Band Leader:
"Pastor Peter, I hope you don't relent in your prayer support for us."
"No, that's why the group exists."
"I'm at peace and grateful."
" Let's be grateful to our Lord. Bro. Dele!"
"Sir."
"You'll join us in the spirit to offer this prayer point."
"What's it?"
"Lord, reveal every hidden root of bitterness that may rear it's ugly head after your marriage. That's all. We've started already."
"Thanks a lot. I'll not fail to do that until ther's a positive result." Dele assured as he jotted it in a notebook taken from his bag.
The following Monday, Peju went to Mary in her father's house early in the morning. She was well known to all the members of the household because she had been a strong pillar behind the marriage plan, ready to sink any amount into it.
"Good morning in this house!" she greeted, wide eyed.
"Good morning sister Peju and how are you?" the bride's mother answered with joy broadly written on her face.
"How's everybody ma?"
"We're all well."
"Before anything else, I want to urinate." she said holding the edge of her skirt, fanning herself with her right hand.
"Go this way, our toilet and bathroom are undergoing repairs." the woman pointed to a small enclosure at the back of the house.
By mistake, Peju went into the temporary bathroom where she was face to face with Mary who had just finished bathing, taking away the towel she used to cover the enterance into the place.
"I'm sorry sir.", Peju apologised, thinking the person was a man.
"Don't worry , my sister." Mary replied with a pounding heart.
It was then that Peju looked up properly to confirm that it was truely the bride's voice.
"Sister Mary, it is you! Why is your chest as flat as that of a man? What's happened to your two...?" Peju whinned, holding her head with both hands,
"What's happened?" she repeated on top of her voice.
It was her whinning that drew the attention of the mother and the entire household.
Mary's mother came to inquire about what happened; she later led Peju to the family library.
"Peju, I thought you'd been aware of her state before now."
"Which state?"
"That Mary does't have those two feminine features."
"I'm not aware. I now understand better why she never tried to put on any of those women wears, especally bras, before me. She named the sizes of her choice and I gave them." Peju explained as her clothes became wet.
"No problem, I may come to see her later." she stood and left.
On her way back to the groom's house, she called Pastor Peter to meet her there for an urgent matter.
They arrived almost at the same time and she explained her encounter.
On hearing her, Dele whinned, "Oh Lord, I've wasted my time and money on futility!"
"Take it easy bro. The Lord had been kind to you by answering your prayer. This would've become a source of bitterness for life. Now you've known. The question now arises,
'We have a matured sister,
And she has no breasts,
What shall we do for her
In the day when she is to be married?' "
