A person who delights in the Lord seeks to be in his presence all day and they look unto him for instruction, which is only found in his word. To walk in obedience is a character trait that every outsider should recognize when they encounter a believer. You can recognize a believer when you see one because they find delight in God’s presence as well as his word and seek to keep both a part of their lives. The bible states: “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night (Psalm 1:2).” You will find that the lord will guard your paths as you walk in obedience to him and his commandments. You shall find inexplicable amounts of mercy and truth along the lines of your obedience to God. As you walk remember that you are in a covenant with the Lord, which states that if you follow him in obedience he shall care for you. The bible states: “All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant (Psalm 25:10).” He wants you to be totally safe and knows that if you are walking in obedience then no harm (at least spiritual) will come unto you. It is of great importance to be obedient for it leads to so many great and wonderful experiences. He causes you to live at peace with everyone you encounter, even those that are your enemies. The bible states: “but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm (Proverbs 1:33).” You see that God is not really concerned about mortal death as he is about spiritual death. He knows that if the body dies the soul shall live on but it is just question of where that will be either in torment or peace everlasting. The soul is what you truly are not that useless flesh you see everyday. The bible states: “the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7).”
As I conclude I just want to state that obedience is not easy at first it requires as I have said much discipline. Following the commandments of the Lord can develop the discipline you need to be obedient. Make it your top priority to be obedient to the Lord in everything that you do and he shall be faithful and loving unto you. Take that plunge today and follow after him and I assure you will have no regrets. At last I leave you with the words of Paul, which are powerful to all who would believe. The bible states: “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).”
