I just love how God constantly takes our natural concept of time and exponentially multiplies it. In this scripture, Jesus just ministered to the woman at the well when his disciples ask him if he's had any lunch. Instead, of thinking about his stomach, Jesus is more concerned about the woman's soul. He reminds the disciples that he came to do God's work, and rather than waiting around for God to give him a mega-church or international ministry, he just talks to the person next to him.
In the natural world, there are seasons that take a certain amount of time. There's the time to plant and the time to water. Then we have to wait for the sunshine to activate the photosynthesis and eventually produce a crop. However, when God's word is applied, the seasons of life can be weeks, days or, as in the case of the woman at the well, minutes. In just a few minutes of conversation, Jesus took a woman who was most likely lonely and depressed after having been married five times, and then living with another man, to a place of belief in Jesus as the Messiah. And she immediately brought others who and they were also converted.
Whether it's someone's salvation or a financial miracle, God can make what should take weeks, months or years and turn it around in a matter of minutes. Spring, summer, winter or fall, Harvest Time is right around the corner.
