They’re going on 7, or even 8.
It’s difficult for their own parents,
To keep their ages straight!
We never seem to be satisfied
With the ages that we are.
We never seem to patiently wait,
Until we can drive a car.
Then, we are longing for that first date,
With a special girl or boy;
And yet, deep down inside of our hearts
We still long to play with toys!
Quite suddenly we become adults,
Responsibilities, shock!
Who is going to pay all the bills?
We find ourselves in “hock.”
How did Mom and Dad raise all of us?
They must have had a great plan!
Must have been what they talked about
When I thought I was a man!
But, somehow, maturity strengthens;
Conquering the trials of life.
We’ve learned how to handle our problems,
We have a much better life.
If our hearts have been given to Christ,
We will draw closer to Him.
And, as the years slip swiftly away,
There may be some pains in the limbs!
Yet, life is an awesome experience,
No matter what stage we’re in.
Then, leaning on Christ, the dear Savior,
Life’s race, we will surely win!
