Pure white paper
New, blank ,unsullied
No mark on the smooth surface.
Clear ,clean, sparkling water
Poured out in preparation
Pens, Paints and pencils
Lined up in neat rows
Waiting.
In a Flower vase
neatly arranged blooms
In a Flower vase
neatly arranged blooms,
tulips ,roses and lilies
A touch of green foliage
Neatly picked, freshly cut
Nature new
from the morning garden
Still dusted with a few drops of dew
All is ready,
A pregnant pause,
A hush descends,
The world holds it breath
For the artist to begin.
After
A Table in disarray
Paint tubes lie exhausted
Squeezed, distorted ,misshapen
Pencils sharpened then blunted
Woodshavings scattered on the floor
Discoloured ,dirty water
All used
In the service of their master.
Colours mixed ,smudged and moulded
Into
A blazing ,brilliant, beautiful
Work that will last
Long after the flowers have faded
Shrivelled ,withered and discarded.
This painting will bring pleasure
To another generation
Marvelling in wonder
Pausing in admiration
At the work of His hand

I meekly want that too for my life... a living "epistle and portrait" of Jesus, a clean vessel of His mercies and love.
Joy and peace, sister!
Well done!
