The long awaited promise was about to be fulfilled. Yet, no one knew.
Obscured, hid in a cave, the child arrived unattended by any fanfare. His mother surrounded only by the sounds of sheep and cattle lowing brought forth her firstborn son. Wrapping in swaddling clothes this gift from above, tenderly kissing his tiny face with exquisite love, she finally rested exhausted both from her long journey and from bringing forth this one by whom years later her heart would be pierced through with grief.
While out on the hillside where heavenly messengers proclaimed the hope of the whole world would be found in a manger wrapped in swaddling clothes, shepherds gazed upon the glorious sight. Can you even begin to imagine that night?
“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:14 KJV
And the child grew into a man. From birth to death showing the Father’s love to a world quite oblivious to this greatest gift he lived to die for you and I.
What is a celebration of this season without Him?
