"Excuse me, can you tell me where the management office is?" asks Betty. She was hoping that the person in men’s clothing could help her.
" Take the escalator to the third level and turn right and it will be at the end of the aisle," says the clerk
She gets on the escalator and she is thinking in her mind of all the things she may want to say if asked.
She opened the door of the management office and the lady that was there asks " Can, I help you?'
"I am Betty Morgan. I have a 10:30 interview."
"Ok, have a seat we will be right with you," says the lady behind the desk.
A minute later Joyce, who is a intake person, with a file under her arm, walks into the room and says, "Betty."
"Yes," she said
"Please step this way into my office," says Joyce.
Both women sit down.
Joyce asks, "you worked for Woolworths for 20 years what happened?"
"Woolworths downsized and I was laid off," said Betty.
"It looks like you have lots of experience, I think that you could do well here eventually although, I decided that the assistant manager position would not be right for you. I want to offer you the position of cashier," said Joyce.
"Ok," said Betty, as she sat in stunned silence not knowing what to do.
She took a breath and said. "Joyce I am going to need to think about. it and get back to you."
She left the knowing to spite her anger that she handled it really well. She could not understand why after 20 years in management the position was not right for her. The only thing she can do is let go and let God. She knows that the position at Dayton's was not the Lords will, but trust in him that the right position will become available in his own timing. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
