All the Trees will clap their Hands, Be Exalted O God, I Exalt Thee, Give Thanks, and I Worship You Almighty God and countless more. Praise should be a major part of our lives.
We should make thanksgiving a lifestyle. Just like the praise song, I Worship You Almighty God, taken from I Chronicles 17:20: “O Lord, there is none like Thee.” The words are, I Worship You Almighty God, there is none like You. I worship You, O Prince of Peace, that is what I want to do. I give you praise, for You are my righteousness, I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like You.
In Deuteronomy 10:14 - 21 NIV, God tells Moses and the Israelites, after Moses breaks the tablets of stone, why He loves and chose them, and His purposes for them. God reminds Moses and the Israelites and us today, “He is your praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.” Our senses need to be reminded. He is our praise! He is our God!
They needed to be reminded of all that God had taken them through, how He led them and provided for them. What a wonderful memorial of God’s faithfulness to them - a nation! Praise and thanksgiving should always be on our lips as well.
I am reminded of pain and abuse in my childhood, as well as pain now. Yet, my focus should be on praise. My physical and spiritual eyes were once blind, but now I see. He touched me and gave me His spiritual healing. I tasted and saw that the Lord was good. I heard of His love and grace through wonderful hymns and praises. I heard the Word of God preached and it fell upon a thirsty dry substance where the words and love took root and formed a tree planted in living water. I’ve Just Seen Jesus and my life and focus have been changed forevermore!
How could we ever truly thank Him for all that He has given us? Colossians 2:6, 7 NIV gives us our answer: “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with
thankfulness.” It must bring Him great joy to hear His children praising Him. Let us make this an attitude of our lives and hearts - thanksgiving!
