TITLE THE SOUND OF MUSUC
A poor homeless stranger was walking down a lonely road when he heard someone singing. He looked around but saw no one as there was no light on the street and it was dark. He wondered if he was dreaming and walked on down the road. The sound of music became softer and almost faded in the background. He was curious so walked back to where he could hear the sound more clearly. He stood there to find out who was singing. He picked up courage to walk towards the singer. Near some bushes he found a teenager who had been beaten and both legs broken.
The wounded youngster had been unconscious for hours and when he came to his senses he had no one to help him, no cell phone and in that deserted area no human being was in sight. He cried for some time, the pain was excruciating, he was too weak to crawl out to the main road. He thought of home, his parents and friends, will anyone come looking for him? Finally he remembered some of the songs he had learned when he went to church with his parents. He started to pray and ask God to help him. He started to sing some songs aloud hoping that someone passing will find him. The homeless stranger carried the teenager on his back and did the needful so that the police and medical staff could relieve his suffering.
Music that we enjoy may be vocal or instrumental. There is a lot of emphasis given to music today both in the home and outside. Youngsters want music all the time as it invigorates then. In Christian circles there is a great emphasis for church music with choirs and orchestra.
Music has been a part of human culture from pre-historic days. In every country we hear different rhymes, rhythms and musical instruments played to express emotions through music and dance, both in times of joy and sorrow. People with musical talent are able to work together and put on recitals that are a feast to the ears. The harmony and melody is always uplifting and a great stress reliever.
Our Heavenly Father loves to hear music that ascends from our hearts. The Bible has numerous references asking us to sing praises to our God. There will be singing in Heaven too, as we worship Him. (Rev 5:9. ASV.) So whether we are talented or less talented let the Lord hear vocal and instrumental music from our joyful hearts. Paul in Eph 5:19. AVS. encourages us to make a melody with our hearts to the Lord, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.
A heavy heart often draws us to God’s word and sacred music. Many burdens can be lifted when we sing praises to our God. Whether we are happy or sad let the sound of music rise up to our Heavenly Father
