Topic: Anniversary (04/11/05)
It was a special celebration
When we entered the gate
Filled with vitality
Of two-dimensionalities.

A lifetime of loving and giving
Is a wonderful legacy
A gift to bestow
As to each other, we sow.

We gave in and we gave out
Love grew into a flame
From college sweethearts
To wedded partners we became.

We were an alliance
As we danced in romance
We were devoted
In love, we wrote.

Though the years have passed -
We remember that special day
When we declared
Our love at twenty-two.

Our rapture began that very day
As love was displayed
Through friendship to romance
True love to commitment.

Such a blessed day to remember
Our union as man and wife
As we merged in unity
Enjoying our anniversary!

Carol, I'm always delighted to see poetry in the Challenge. This was lovely. Unfortunately, you may not have been aware that the minimum word count for the Challenge is 150 words. Your poem came in at just 127 words, which was close, but not quite close enough (even with the little extra we allow) so we had to disqualify it. Don't be discouraged though - please jump into the Challenge again, but just keep in mind that it's 150 words minimum and 750 words maximum. With love, Deb (Challenge Coordinator)
