That’s not too far home.
A calm, peaceful setting
So there, my thoughts could roam.
I listened to the birds,
Singing their happy song,
Sensing God’s own Presence
Known to Him, I belong.
I strolled along a brook,
That rushed to join the sea.
I saw a mother duck,
With babies at her knee.
A bench was by the walk,
Giving a moment’s rest.
So, quietly I sat
Knowing I was blessed.
I strolled along a path,
That ran beside the sea.
I watched the many boats
And people passing me.
We shared a nod, a smile,
On a warm summer morn.
I sensed His awesome peace,
On His shoulder’s I am borne.
And then He said to me,
“Come walk with me my child,
In the garden of your heart,
For I’m of temper mild.
I want to show you much,
Of what you need to know.
Come walk with Me awhile,
Now, come and let us go.”
