She had been quite ill the last two months of her life. Maybe I should have visited her but my pride stood in the way. I was bitter and hurt, for although she didn't file for a divorce I blame her for a lot of stuff.
As I unfold the handwritten letter, I notice that it was dated two days before she died. I began to read these words:
Dearest Micheal,
I thank God for giving me the strength to write these words to you. I wanted to thank you for being my children father, I didn't want my life to end without you knowing what a great father I thought you were.
I know that God has great plans for your life. Let Him continue to strenthen you every day. My deepest hope is that you will always let your steps and heart to be ordered by the Lord.
God has purpose for your life, but he left the choice up to you. Follow what has birth in you before you were concieved.
Last, please be that Godly example that our children can follow. Remeber your life is a living testimony of the God you serve, and you live a life by the example that Christ left for you.
With Christ as your guide,
Donna
Tears ran down my face, as I realized that she cared so much for me; that at the point of death, she thought of me. I know that she lived out her purposefulness at the end of her life.
God has called all of us to a certian purpose and it may not be anything that big. For my ex-wife wasn't even alive to know how much these words touch my very heart. Could I have written this letter? The answer would be no. For at that time my heart was filled with pride and I had no use for her.
I thank God that she wasn't like me and obey what God asked her to do. Don't close your ears to what God is saying to you because it's not the person you think should tell you. Some of us has refuse to follow what God has spoke into our lives because it didn't come from a pastor or prophet.
